PENCILS
Some time ago I used to draw on paper with pencils (or sometimes a pen ball) to later add ink and water colors, and then to sacn and color in Photoshop. But nowadays all illsutrations start and end in photoshop. There´re no more pencils beyond some thumbnails roughed very quickly in a notepad during a meeting. But from time to time there's a need to see or show some pencil art. Even more right now with so many AI everywhere. Here there are roughs from projects that I've done through the last decade or so.
Like it says on the text this was for some RPG game. The guy wanted to see if I'd translate his briefs into images. I belive it was for a card game.
These guys where developed for an animated series pitch. I had to developed six or seven chracters.
Also these were done as part of the research to find the chracters.
Here it is a project that I liked a lot about designing characters for a chess game. I have several pages like this filled with characters for this game.
This is just another one page with Queens and Jacks. I hope someday to go on with this beacuse it really was fun.
This is a little bit of color and 3d assets merged to create a better approach to the feel and look for the game.
This is one of the many characters that I developed for then make them into 3D. Those 4 fingers sure look weird now that I noticed.
These characters wer done for a collaborative comic project. Every illustrator had to create one strip for the cult series "El Eternauta".
Another example of characters for a chess game. In this case it was a princess who played as a guide and host for the players.

In case you didn't guess these are dogs. Yes, DOGS. I belive someone wanted an illustrator to draw pet portraits. I can't quite remember.
In this case it's a pet dog but for a soccer game. It was meant to be a goalkeeper.
These are roughs for a tattoo that was never done. See that grid over his face there? Always useful for doing correct features and scalable designs.
Another that I'd like to go further with a circus subject. The weird elephants that you see are because at the beginning the idea was to give this circus a futuristic look. So the animals were going to be a mix of robitic, animal and humanoid.
But then I discarded the idea and focus on more "traditional-looking" characters.
